A Legacy Reimagined in Titanium

The Girard-Perregaux Laureato, an iconic integrated-bracelet sports watch originating in the 1970s, nears its momentous 50th anniversary. In anticipation of this milestone, Girard-Perregaux presents the Laureato Chronograph Ti49, marking the introduction of titanium to the esteemed lineup. This release epitomizes the brand's commitment to innovation while upholding the enduring heritage of the Laureato.

Preserving the essence of its predecessors, the Laureato Chronograph Ti49 proudly displays the hallmark octagonal bezel, a defining characteristic dating back to its inception as the Quartz Chronometer. However, in a daring evolution, this bezel is now fashioned from Grade 5 titanium, renowned for its exceptional strength and resilience. The octagonal screw-down locks adorning the chronograph pushers echo the bezel's distinctive shape, reaffirming the Laureato's unique design identity. Furthermore, the dial features the classic Clous de Paris motif, executed in a subtle gray hue that harmonizes seamlessly with the titanium case and bracelet, infusing the timepiece with refined sophistication and modern allure.

Craftsmanship and Technical Mastery

The Laureato Chronograph Ti49 embodies meticulous craftsmanship and technical prowess. Its 42mm titanium case, enhanced with 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium, houses the robust in-house caliber GP03300-0141. This automatic chronograph movement, comprised of 419 components, operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, boasting a 46-hour power reserve. Complemented by a sapphire crystal with AR coating and a Clous de Paris-patterned dial in stealthy gray, this timepiece exudes sophistication and versatility.

With its hobnail pattern contrasted with concentrically ridged sub-dials and a raised outer minute track, the dial maintains a monochromatic and cohesive aesthetic. The applied indices and hands, coated in gray PVD and filled with white lume, ensure optimal legibility in any lighting condition. Despite its complexity, the Laureato Chronograph Ti49 maintains an understated elegance, a testament to Girard-Perregaux's commitment to balanced design.

While some may lament the absence of a display case back, the solid titanium construction ensures durability and enhances the watch's sporty appeal. Available from Girard-Perregaux retailers worldwide, the Laureato Chronograph Ti49 invites enthusiasts to experience the fusion of tradition and innovation.
