Patek Philippe watches constitute the best of the best in the world of watches. It’s hard to discuss excellence in watchmaking and not mention the brand Patek Philippe. However, one thing that may be surprising to many, is to learn that one of Patek’s most successful watches (in terms of sales) is a quartz watch! The Patek Philippe Twenty~4. 

The Patek Twenty~4 is the ladies Patek. It was first introduced in 1999. Modeled as a rectangular watch with a simple dial with 12 and 6 hour marker, this watch makes for a simple design that is often complicated with diamonds at the hour indices or around the bezel.

For a while this was the most produced watch from the famed manufacture. Almost like the “Ford model T” watch for the brand. But in 2018, without too much fanfare, Patek decided to release a new updated Twenty~4, and this time using a mechanical movement. The famous 324 SC caliber that is also used in Patek’s flagship Nautilus 5711/1A and Aquanaut 5167A watches.

This is the first Twenty~4 using a round dial. In fact it has little resemblance to the previous model. Coming in at 36 mm there are effectively two models: steel and gold. The steel model includes a blue and black sunburst dial with diamonds around the bezel. And the watch includes a bracelet that gives a fun but also sporty vibe to an otherwise dressy looking watch.

The gold models are done in rose gold with either a brown sunburst dial or a silvery white dial. As with the steel models they can also include diamonds on the bezel (between 150 to 200 selected gems).

There is also a reference with diamonds on the bracelet and one that is fully diamond pavee on the dial, bezel, and bracelet.

Releasing a mechanical watch for ladies that includes just enough bling to make it dressy but also a bracelet is Patek Philippe’s way of giving ladies an everyday watch that will match their sensibilities but can be dressed up, and down as needed.
