Born out of a challenge
In 1930, businessman César de Trey was challenged to find a way to protect the glass of a watch for polo players during matches. de Trey’s idea was inspired; a case that could be flipped over. He approached his friend Jacques-David LeCoultre to produce the watch and the pair engaged René-Alfred Chauvot to design it. And so the Reverso watch was born.
The Reverso One Duetto has a very sleek design. This steel model echoes the emblematic codes of the illustrious Reverso: rectangular case, horizontal gadroons, triangular lugs, colored dial and Dauphine hands, while on the recto, the sun-rayed silver dial with its guilloché finish is deliberately understated. Matching the strap, the reverse exudes an air of mystery with its glittery dial. Standing out against the blue dial, the hour-markers radiate outwards from the center. On either side of the case, gadroons pavéd with two rows of brilliant-cut diamonds add a subtle jewelry touch.
