From the introduction of its first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko has been a leader in undersea precision and durability, spearheading innovations in both technology and design. The first watchmaker to provide an outer case protective structure for shock resistance and reliability, Seiko also manufactured the first diver’s watch to use light and corrosion-resistant titanium.
Other pioneering achievements have included an L-shaped gasket to ensure world-class impermeability, a torque control bezel for incomparable smoothness and durability, and an accordion-style polyurethane band adjustable to changes in temperature and pressure, as well as screw-down four o’clock crowns, antimagnetic quartz movements, and specially designed dials for enhanced legibility.
